I have this year mapped out with monthly goals, beginning with October. Until then we are focusing on information from the Core Knowledge Series. We are reading through it and getting an overview. For Science today we had an introduction to matter and atoms. Although I have this planned to study in more detail in April and May, our family had a class on the subject and gathered information. I thought I would share our resources from today as my first free unit. Look forward to a "How To" Workshop later on making your own units.

Last night I posted my first post in a month on my "mini" workshops page. I apologize for the long span. In addition to preparing school, field trips and much more, we have discovered that several family members have wheat sensitivities. After declaring our home "wheat free", I turned our lives upside down and researched as much as I could on the subject. So, an addition to my site will be the promised recipes as I work them out for those who are interested. School has started and the children enjoy it. I will also be sharing my "what I like about homeschooling" list soon. Excitement is contagious. Try to keep the passion for homeschooling. Once the children read, they will learn a bounty of knowledge. The best gift you can impart is the the "WANT to"... I will also be posting free units soon...check back frequently :) or don't miss it by signing up for them to be sent to your inbox. Here is my list of FREEbies for today :) Enjoy!
